How is CBD absorbed?

The degree and rate that CBD is absorbed into the bloodstream is known as it's bioavailability. Bioavailability and absorption rate very greatly dependent on the method of administration. CBD can be absorbed through many different methods, including; intravenously, orally, sublingually, topically, or via inhalation.

CBD taken orally that must pass through both the stomach and liver before being activated in the bloodstream, for example, has low bioavailability and takes longer to feel the effects. Whereas, inhaled CBD has high bioavailability because it is absorbed via membranes which cover the lungs, after which CBD enters directly into the bloodstream having an almost instant effect.
